This book was so good I tried to pace myself from reading it all in one night because I wanted something to look forward to the next day! It was just so thought provoking. The author's use of metaphors really help visualize the story and the underlying issues of environment and tolerance were executed beautifully. I really connected with the characters and just can't wait to see what happens in volume 2! Parts of the book are just so cool. I want to describe them all but then I would spoil all the twists and turns! I highly recommend this book for a good read. No doubt you will be wanting your family and friends to read it to so you will have someone to talk to about it!

Beautiful and descriptive writing, you feel like you are right there with the characters. A great gender twist on the typical dystopian books makes this story stand out. So difficult to book the down!
This was an excellent crossover book that is great for both young adults in how it is edgy yet appropriate, and for adults as holds interest well, and paints a vivid portrait of a possible dystopian future for humanity. Subtly addresses the tendency for humans to self destruct and our inability to correct our path.
Read it in two sittings because I couldn't put it down. I'm a bit out of practice on book reports, but I did enjoy this one very much. When does the movie come out? There's going to be a movie, right?
This is a great book about a dystopian future because of Global Warming! I don't want to go into specifics so I don't give away any spoilers. The characters were really engaging and I really felt for them. The book is a brisk read, I finished it and it left me anxious to get my hands on the next volume. If you are looking for a great Sci-Fi read, I highly recommend this book.
Thought provoking examination of a future society that has had to revert to norms of the past - no technology and old fashion gender roles. Probably called a young adult novel because of the age of the likable main characters, but this is a good read as well for those of us who are closer to getting senior discounts.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Its target audience is young adults, but I believe that it is great for all ages. The book paints vivid picture of a future where technology has destroyed civilization, many of the world’s natural resources are depleted, and a new form of government is in place to protect against technology and man destroying what little is left. It is in this world, an eighteen year old female character named Aloy is about to assume her role as leader of East Country. Her position is very fragile and she must confront numerous threats against her, her nation, her family, and her beliefs. Rori Shay writes a thought provoking fictional story that heightens your awareness of technology and defense, while keeping you fully engaged with the drama that surrounds the main character. I am very much looking forward to the next book.
So I'm starting to think dystopian settings are my favorite. This book has a dystopian setting with details unlike anything I've ever read before. I enjoyed the character development and reading and experiencing the struggles that Aloy, Griffin and Vienne go through. This book also touches on some difficult world problems that we are facing today. Elected has plenty of twists and turns to keep you flipping the page but also leaves you hoping the story will keep going! I'm very much looking forward to the rest of this series. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone that enjoys reading! Thank you Rori for a wonderful new series I can look forward to!
